Samir Karnik, an ace director, producer and writer, came into the limelight with the making of Kyun Ho Gyaa Na, a film that released worldwide in the year 2004. The shining and glittering world of Bollywood attracts millions of people everyday but few are only fortunate to taste the stardom. With the dream of making big in Bollywood, Samir, a bachelor degree holder with a double major in International Relations and International Politics from American University joined renowned film maker Vidhu Vinod Chopra as an assistant director during the production of the movie Kareeb. With his creative excellence and passion for work, Samir Karnik has obtained appreciation and applauds from all over.
His desire and passion for creative work drive him to Tanzania, Dar- es- Salaam to make documentary films on that particular region. Later on he was also associated with CNN affiliated television station in Dar- es- Salaam as station manager, where he directed various television commercials for the African region. In the year 2002 he came back to Mumbai and started his own production house known as Top Angle Production. His idea behind setting up his production house was to make quality cinema that entertain both the classes and the masses. It is due to his dedication and hard work that his movie Nanhe Jaisalmer won an award at the Chicago Film Festival and was the only entry at Cannes Film Festivals.
